    Cumberland bait

I know a few people have asked about where to find bait at Lake Cumberland. Talked to Dennis earlier today, he is in the process of setting up a bait and tackle store (Bandits) next to where he used to be. Hopes to have it open by next weekend. Will have shiners, and, if things work out right, shad by that time. The latter depend on getting the big tanks up and running by then.

Hey apb...If you could provide a little more detail about the location I would appreciate it...I have no clue who Dennis is.

Sorry about that! Bandits Resort, Jamestown. Just before the Lilly Creek ramp. On the road to the Jamestown Marina. Forgot the road number. 270-343-3314 (same as before).

    RE: Cumberland bait

Glad to hear someone is trying to pick up the pieces of that place. I was there about 2 months ago and talked to the lady in the restaurant and she said they were in the process of selling off few remaining pieces of tackle, had no bait, and didn't plan on running the bait shop.

I was starting to plan a couple weekend trips and was wanting to stay at Jamestown Resort. Bandits made it very convient to do that and get fresh bait first thing in the morning. Any idea on what hours he plans on being open? From what I've been hearing the guides are on their locations well before sun up now. When the bait shops don't open until the sun comes up it definately spoils the morning bite for those of us that have to buy bait.

No 100% sure on the hours. Probably like he had before, open at 4:30. I would call ahead of time to check.

He said he went back to Chicago for a while and got things set up. Once things were running fine, he came back down. Has actually had time to fish for a change!

Thanks! Will let you know how the big water turns out. You going to the creek rodeo?
