Help locating Crappie @ Green River

I plan to take my 6 year old son crappie fishing at Green river in the middle of October. We well be camping at the state park. Just wondered if someone could point me in the general direction as where to catch crappie. I'm not asking for someone to give up information in regards to there honey hole. Any information would help. I hope that we can catch some crappie so it well keep my son interested in fishing. Thanks.:-)

down there i seem to do better with minnows or tubes in minnow colors.
start with a slip bobber rig in standing timber and laydowns,if it is real clear they spook easy so stay away and cast if you find some.i usually go from holmes bend up river so you have some water color,plus there is good shallow cover just be careful if you don't run up there much if the water is down especially after you go under the bridge.

may not help abit with it raising,if they pull the plug thefish will more than likey suspend,i'd go to standing timber in the channels and fish with minnows straight down,if they don't pull it hard it should be real good shallow.for most anything,even the big toothy critters.

i was down on green a few weekend ago and did very well with crappie. head down past the state camp ground and and kids camp and as the river bends try out the wall on you left on up past the cove there is plenty of cover and its right off the channel. prolly pulled 100 total with 30 keeps last time i went also the catfish and musky are a good surprise on light tackle

I was doing good on smallmoth and largemouth too then but it has rose fast and if they start sucking it down 8 or nine feet it will be tough i think.
