I know about shad and shiners for live bait...and Red Fins, Silver Buddies, Rattle Traps, Zara Spooks as far as artifical is concerned, but what about doll fly's?

It seems that I rememember at one time people were using large white doll fly's to catch Cumberland stripers. Has anyone here had any success with the big white doll fly while fishing for striper? If so, how were you presenting the bait, were you trolling, casting or jigging?
