    What

I'm not 100% sure of BASS and ESPN, or even FLW and Fox Sports for that matter. My comment is we all have a long way to go if we aproach everything like that. If you honestly think that the only company that US citizens are inadvertly supporting through terriosm then you are mistaken. Over 40% of this country is not owned by US citizens. My point was that unless we all go live in the woods and eat animals and don't shop anywhere, it's not worth the energy to boycott 1 company. I am sure that we if we all dug deep enough we could find exactly what we did not want to, a lot of outside influence in this country.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying we have a lot bigger battle out there than you realize.

And for that matter, go overseas and see how much we dominate a lot of countrys who view us in a negative light but have no choice to buy Coke, Pepsi, McDonalds and now even Walmart. It's a strange world, all we can do is live life to the fullest.

Didn't flip flop one ioda IMHO. Again wasn't looking for you guys approval, actually I don't give a crap. Had to vent and it's my personal satisfaction, however misled. Matt I don't remember to many other countries leaders recently calling Bush a devil and the maffea here as of late in a public forum. I don't agree with everything Bush does but I still got his back. It happened in the 60's and it's happening now, and that is excepting this kind of crap when our young people are at war trying to protect us from murdering fanatic freaks. I've said enough and I'll let this one go, but I really think some of you missed the entire boat on this one. Buzzking take a Zoloft.

    MATT, Buzzking, and Chavez

Buzzking, you need to temper your fishing with a little more study. Chavez is an elected official in the same vein as Castro. It is very easy to achieve reelection when you throw all of your political opponents in prison.

Chavez also throws any person in prison who makes a negative comment about him or his regime. This guy has been working with Cuba to finish what Castro started (aligning all of South America against the US) and if he is successful we will all be affected greatly. DO NOT underestimate this man or what he is capable of accomplishing. Did I mention he is harboring terrorists and Columbian drug lords as we read? Google his name and Citgo. You will find that he is becoming filthy rich as a result of that relationship.

In all fairness, you should also know that Hugo pumped four billion into social programs for his people last year. I know that makes him sound like a humanitarian, but the reason for it is to win the hearts of the poor. It is the poor who provide the muscle for any revolution, and revolution is what Chavez wants. He wants all of South America to revolt against the US. If that sounds far-fetched, please revisit 1935. A rather unknown took power in a small European country by convincing the masses in his country that England, America, and the Jewish race was the devil. The result was WWII.

As for you Matt, I understand your feelings. However, comparing this idea of letting BASS know what you think of Chavez to someone boycotting Stern is just wrong. Stern was never in control of Viacom, and Stern never wanted to "destroy the capitalist dogs, financially and quite literally." I'll still buy my boats from you even if you are misguided;-)

If anyone on this sight wants to do business with Citgo, go ahead. That freedom is what many of us have fought for. I choose to do all I can to prevent a man who hates my country from prospering, and I have every right to do so. I also pay BASS dues, and it is time they take notice. I know that money pays the bills, but there are other major sponsors out there whose presidents don't want to destroy my way of life.

    RE: MATT, Buzzking, and Chavez

All I know for sure is that Citgo is a subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela. Hugo Chavez effectively controls 6% of American refinery capacity...and Hugo Chavez is a dillhole that is doing his best to build anti-American foreign policy in Venezuela and across the world.

The fact that a guy like Hugo controls that much of a crucial part of this country's economy doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

I don't think that my choosing not to use Citgo will make a difference...not sure that all of us deciding not to use Citgo will make a difference...but that doesn't mean I'm going to pull in to Citgo and fill up my tank. Screw Hugo Chavez.

    Citgo, Chavez & Danny Glover

If I dont' buy Citgo gas they will still operate in The USA. If I don't spend my money to see a Danny Glover movie he will still make movies (Is he still making movies? I've not seen him in too much lately). Protesting Citgo and Danny Glover will only make me feel better about myself. If that's all I accomplish then that's OK.

Someone up top asked about Danny Glover. Danny Glover was laughing and hugging his good buddy, Hugo Chavez, right before Chavez called President Bush the devil. As for Chavez, why is he so interested in giving discounted oil to poor people in Harlem? 80% of Venezuala's citizens live in poverty!!! Shouldn't he be more concerned about his own? Something stinks, that's for sure.

Wow, a civil debate that has not turned into a "you are dumb", "no, you are dumb" insultfest. I am impressed. Never thought I would see the day.

    Citgo and B.A.S.S.

I know this post will be shot down like a one winged, blind dove flying through a dove shoot but I've got to say it anyway. How can B.A.S.S. and ESPN sleep at night knowing that there number one sponser is Citgo. We have good men and women dieing to give us freedom to go fishing and the best sponser they can find is a terrorist backing, Iran loving, U.S. hating thug like Hugo Chaves. I'll walk before I knowingly buy Citgo gas EVER AGAIN. Go ahead moderators zap this post but it does have something to do with fishing if you really think about it. I know it won't change anything guys, but I say SHAME ON B.A.S.S. AND ESPN, SHAME, SHAME.
