I cant tell you about the loomis... but I know that the kistler will do just fine... I fish cumberland a ton in the winter months and have yet to have a problem with them cause it was to cold... heat will do more to the rod then cold.... call any of your rod bulders and they will tell you hot humide days are alot worse then cold ANY DAY.....

    RE: Rod lovers

The rod to watchout for is the H&H rod. Partner busted one the other day setting the hook. This isn't the first one he has heard of doing this. Luckily the warranty is very good. These are light rods maybe the lightest i have held and i really love a lightweight rod. Maybe the walls are too thin?
