trout on cumberland river

Going to Cumberland river, trout fishing. Thought of trolling for stripers a little if it gets slow. Any simple set up I could try?
Gonna buy larger rod to troll with. I've been there many times, never tried striper fishing. Think the river will be back down to a good level this weekend. Any help is appreciated. Heck, any fish I catch I'd be happy. Just put them back anyway...

Never caught any trolling, but then again, I never tried!:-) When I striper fish on the river, I usually pull large gizzard shad on planer boards right up against the trees. When in Tenn., I use fresh caught rainbow trout. Most of out bites come so clost to the wood, that you can't put the rods in rod holders. You have to hold them and work them right through the wood. Yep. At least you could as recently as last year.
