What would you do at Rough

I'm going to Rough Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Both lakes are 6 feet above summer pool and they are dropping them 1/2 foot a day. Water is clear to murky and 72 degrees. Where would you start? I'll take any suggestions. I know the fish I was on at rough 2 weeks ago are gone I have know idea where they went. I posted earlier of fishing there yesterday and only had one little one.

Weather they are pulling it or not, if the water is up I'll always try shallow first, topwater, shallow cranks near cover, spinnerbait, flipping. If I have no luck at that within the first hour or two, find the first break. Usually the drop offs at the ends of big flats, if that doesn,t work steep banks near the channel, bluff ends and the like.
    Good luck!

the last time rough got up this bad this late in the year, i think 2 years ago, i started really shallow. the shad wont go up the tree's so much so i stayed along the treelines. use the typical fall baits just try fishing the treeline as if it were a grass line. if you can find some irregularities in the treeline, like a boulder or a place with just a few trees you'd be better off. something different from the rest of the bank though. fish parallel until you figure out what they are holding on.

when it is up i have always done well fishing the drop the original waterline makes. As David said the shad wont usually go way back, especially if they pull it hard,if they are pulling it hard fish the tips of the long points slow rolled spinner and cranks and a BIG JIG.Notice,if the shad are way back or the bluegill are way back the bass ought to be too,BIG JIG and bushy cover and grass clumps can lead to sore arm.
