Just wondering on which to hit up. Don't know how the creek looks and Cedar, well I'm not sure if I can find a parking spot on the weekends LOL :7
stoner was in great shape last weekend and not enough rain this past week to mess things up, I'm heading that way saturday thinking the ole creek should be an A+ for fishing, and not very crowded, Ben is thinking about putting a gate up and charging 75-100$ for a key during the off season, so now might be the time to go, I`m not sure what to think about that, Ike's may be my new off season hang out. So maybe you other guys should voice your opinion to him the next time you are on the creek. Oh well Banditman which ever you choose should be a good day, But the creek is in the best shape it has been in all year, thats for sure, Happy huntin
Cedar is tough right now so good luck were ever you go.
$75-$100? What in the world would prompt that? $25 seems reasonable given the idea that not everyone will make it down there more than 5 times during the off season. I know Ike had a season pass before and i think it was $25 for the whole year! Even this past year with the great fishing and weather i only made it down to Frymans maybe 7-10 times. I hope he doesn't do that.
this idea belongs to a fellow named Dave Mcworter, Thanks alot Dave.
The creek looks really good right now temps. in the mid 60's with just a slight tint to it.
Cedar would be my first choice for catching whoppers, but would probably opt for stoner since I'm more confident in it producing fish.
I would hope that Ben would reconsider the idea on the charging for a gate key, 30.00 bucks would be fair. Some people may decide not to come back at all espeacily those that don't use this board may think that it is closed for good. Just my .02 worth.
I may try to go out there Tues. anybody headed that way post back.
Stoner.
Hit the creek today, A bunch of small fish on jigs, worms, cranks and buzzbaits. Had a 3 pounder on a crankbait around 4:45 pm . The full moon I reckon had their bellys all full..
Hmmm. That's interesting about Fryman's. I would gladly pay for an off-season gate key. In my opinion, $75-100 is steep, but it's a private deal and it's his decision. I'll pay it if that's what it takes to fish there in the "off season"...(C'mon, we all know that there aint no stinkin "off season" over there. LOL) I totally understand that he can't be there 7 days a week for a couple boats per day in the winter at five bucks a pop. (I'm sure there are plenty of days in the winter with no boats at all.)
Improvements to the campground and bait/tackle/snacks are nice, but that will most definitely cause things to be run more like a business now...I'm all for capitalism and the man's ability to make a living from his property, but the business will need traffic to survive and pay for the goodies...we'll see increased fishing pressure as more and more folks come to see the place as it gets spiffed up. It's a catch 22, but the best thing bass fishermen can do is catch'em and release'em.
im with you slipshot 75-100$ is way to steep, from talking to Ben, it seems the trouble is comming from the campers not the fisherman. So im thinking his problems are pretty much over for the season, so why put a gate in at all. Ive never seen anyone camping down their in the winter.
Fishhunter,
What kind of problems? Just curious...
Don
Drunks fighting, selling dope out of campsite, makeing meth in a campsite, stealing stuff out of the barn, and he said people are'nt paying,he has a honer box up, Im not sure if he ment fisherman or campers on that on. Oh ya and he said he had some campers makeing shine one weekend. Same old story you have a campground that is'nt patroled by police or park ranger and the idiots will ruin it for every one, with their booze and dope...... And thats the problems Ben was talking about. Happy huntin
I'm with Splitshot. F-n-F season creek style is worth it.
