    RE: Midwest Sportsman Classic Results

    Thanks, Steve.

Looks like Midwest gets bragging rights over ABA, too. :9 Midwest didn't have nearly as many boats, but Midwest guys had lots better bags on Friday. The Midwest winner had 5+ pounds more than the ABA's top weight on Friday. ABA had four bags over 10 pounds that day, to 13 for Midwest.

yea but you gotta think 334 midwest boats = 668 competitors or roughly that, there werent that many in the ABA nationals. Im not throwing judgement one way or another but if two guys dont beat one on any given lake, on any given day, then either the one guy is freakin awesome, or the two guys need to stay home.

    RE: Midwest Sportsman Classic Results

First of all I want to congratulate the winning team of the Midwest Sportsman Classic. Along with Johhny Johnson of the ABA. But, as a member of the ABA I think comparing the ABA to midwest is like compairing apples and oranges. Midwest is a team circuit were as ABA is a individual Tournament were boaters are matched with boaters and are only able to fish their waters for half a day if so desired. So in fact you are fishing against the person in the boat. This does make it more difficult to catch a large stringer. So easy_13 if you were trying to get a response or make out one orginazation is better than another. Then you should do more research. because im sure there are plenty of team circuits going on to compair apples to apples. I will say fishing in general was tuff for most people no matter who you fished for. And you must also agree we are all fishermen no matter who you cheer for.

I'm a member of Midwest Sportsman and assumed ABA was a team event, too. I also assumed that the smilie I used would alert you that I was posting in a playful, joking manner. I guess both my assumptions were wrong.

    Hey mike,

No harm done. You can't really compare the two circuits because they use entirely different formats.

I also fish the ABA circuit and like the "single" format. In fact, George Salov (ABA Director) and I fish as a team in the Plapp's river circuit.

So...before anyone gets carried away here...lets not get in a pissing contest.
