depending on what size boat you are running it on I would say somewhere b/w a 17 and 19 pitch. Unless its on a 17' or bigger, I would go with a 19 pitch

I have a 89 Johnson 70hp. I need to replace the old prop and was wondering what size prop would be the best? Boat is used for fishing.

It's 17. Thanks for the input. I'll go with the 19.
that also depends on the kind of prop you plan to buy, if you buy a alum. prop at a 19 pitch it will most likely be closer to a 17 pitch after deformation while running. if you buy a stainless 19, you will get a true 19 pitch and I think that will fit you just about right. If you are gonna buy a alum or steel, you may need to go to a 20
