    Agreed on the barbless...

    In the Smokies they only allow single hook lures...I caught plenty of fish and it was much easier to release. Again it would probably be met with some difficulty right off the bat, but believe it would increase the survival rate after release.

    Who do we contact to float the thought. I do not want to put the occasional angler out, but he would have to know to take simple pliers and pinch the barbs down on the hooks to fish for trout. If that policy was enacted there should be no penalty for a few years to try to educate the fishermen about the technique and the benefits about doing so in the years to come.After that I am sure enforcement would be a big problem but it is worth a try.
