Hi guys,
Going to Cumberland in a few weeks.
Are there any bait/tackle stores near
Albany, KY? I 'm staying at Grider Hill
and Albany seems to be the nearest town.
I know I can get my non-res. license at the
Wal-Mart Supercenter in Monticello (been there
before) but I prefer to support the local bait
store if possible. If there is one close to
Grider Hill (Albany) let me know.
p.s.- Any suggestions on lures and colors for Smallies
Walleyes?
Thanks,
Indy.

There is nothing in Albany as I know of. I go to Wolf river resort on dale hollow, and there is nothing in terms of tackle. I always stop at the little bass pro shop on 90 as soon as you cross the bridge on cumberland. It's about 20 minutes from the wal-mart in monticello. They will have just about any thing you need. It is located in a gas station. I go in there on my annual trip to dale hollow, I don't know none of them but they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They always try to help me with any info on dale hollow. Since you are going to cumberland they will know what is going on. Albany is real small nice town but the only bait shop there was closed down about 3 or 4 years ago. If you are staying in Albany try a place called Darlenes diner, me and about 9 other guys from our church went to dale last week and we ate there and they were super people and the food was great. There is only about 5 or 6 restaurants in Albany, pizza hut, dairy queen, subway, taco bell' and lees. Good luck on your trip.
