They do not have to put out flyers or advertise in anyway . This tourney is a tradition now that it has been going on for 25 years. That is pretty obvious since there is always 125- 200 boats every year. But I have heard several of the older fishermen voicing complaints about the amount of money they are keeping. Just guessing I would be safe to say 2000 -3000 dollars. One guy last year started writing down the amounts as they handed them out and all of a sudden they quit calling out the prize money as the team came forward. The event always pays 1 spot for every 5 boats . But since they(Pittsburg Marine) started doing the weigh in the money drops off really fast. NOW don't get me wrong they do a great job and those guys are top notch fellows but I was just wondering why, when they "volunteered" to do the weigh in they didn't tell everyone up front that they where going to keep some of the entry fees. Heck I would do the weigh in and not even fish for that kind of money.
