    Nolin Lake Conditions

Looking for lake conditions for Nolin. Temp, levels, etc. Fishing there this weekend out of Wax.

Any hazards to watch out for on the lake?

    Thanks for any info.

    RE: Nolin Lake Conditions

I was there today, put in at Iberia and fished Rock Creek; then the main lake in the area around the Island in front of Rock Creek; over by Dog Creek and down towards Pondarosa.

The lake is about two feet below Summer Pool. I got temps in the 51 to 54 degree ranges. The turnover has completed and the water is "yucky" and MUDDY, with a lot of floating stuff in some areas and none in others.

    Hope this helps,

    Grumpy

How far up Rock Creek could you get past the 88 bridge?

    How was the fishing?

    RE: Nolin Lake Conditions

me and a friend went crappie fishing sunday on nolin. we fished davis, briar, and whatever that last creek on the left is going toward the dam. we were at our spot in davis as the sun was coming up over the trees. temps started at 58 and got up to 61 around 1 or so. we caught the hell out of them for about 2 hours then it got real slow and spuratic we the sun got up really bright. dont know if you're after the crappie or not but they were on the outside stumps by the channel and on the ledges on the main lake.

    RE: Nolin Lake Conditions

James, I didn't go up the creek, I headed towards the main lake, but there was plenty of water (only two feet down) so I would think you could go a long ways. I have been way up Rock Creek when the water was a lot lower than it was today. I caught four nice Bass early, all on crankbaits, but once the sun got up in the sky (after 9 oclock) I just caught a couple of dinks.
