Crappie structure

Is it illegal to drop your own crappie structure here in Kentucky? I heard that it was illegal and was hoping to hear otherwise.

no it isnt illegal. you are supposed to go to the corp office on whatever lake you are dropping it in and get a pass for it, although few do this. me and a friend did this all winter last year. we got stopped by the water patrol 4 times and they never asked for the pass.

I do it every winter and they usually just set and bs with you.only thing they tell me is make sure it is anchored so it won't come loose.
now at rough river 2 years ago i had piles in and the core put their fish attractor signs on a few of them arghhhh.yes dave is right you are supposed to get a permit
