Had a wonderful day Sat on Cumberland although the wind was tough.
Water temp on my finder read 60 at about 9:30.
Was fishing wind swept points and on my third point got slammed.
Was I had it on video. Fighting a big smallie, trying to get to the net and keeping one foot on the trolling motor to keep from washing up on the bank. After about 30 seconds after the hook up out of the water about three feet comes what I would consider a pig. Two more jumps and about 20 minutes later I finally guide her to the net. My knees are shaking and I'm twenty feet from the bank. I haul her in and can't believe how fortunite I am. I get out my tape measure and she tapes at 22 1/4", got out my digital scales and hung her, 5lbs 4ozs. Had to try it again to be sure, 5lbs 4ozs. My biggest one in my life. I tryed to hold her out and snap a couple pictures but couldn't get her all in the picture. Laid her on the back platform and snapped 2 more. Picked her up, gently put her back in the water. 2 pulls through the water and off she went. A beautiful, beautiful girl. Thought I may be on to something so I headed to the next point.
In a blink of an eye 4 boats come racing in and headed to all the available points. Found out later a big torney going on. Fished on out to the main lake with only a couple small KYs. Got the bright idea of running over to Beaver Creek. Came through the cut above Jamestown and all of a sudden it accured to me, DUMB MISTAKE. The water was white capping, my Stastos was all over the place but made it. Made about 4 casts, lossing 2 baits decided, DUMB MOVE, back across the lake I went. Fished about another hour with nothing. Went to the house. What a wonderful day.
