    Fall Patterns on Dale Hollow

I wrote an article with Bob Coan on Fall Fishing on Dale Hollow using slow trolling live bait.
    http://www.fishin.com/articles/jimdicken/FallonDale.htm

Several pictures of the 3/ 4 Pound plus smallies I caught...and a video of me landing one too.
Let me know what you think... don't be too brutal..LOL

Pretty good article but you forgot the GPS cordinates of all these Honey Holes that Bob took you to for these Smallies. If I was guiding and my name was in or on the article, I would take you to my best spots for the more 5 pounders you catch and write about is more good publicity for me and my guide service. Now which points and bluffs were these.......?

We fished creeks points and bluff walls near the Dam.. from there on your are on your own.
I caught 3 fish all over 4 pounds that I thought looked like 6 pounders and would have claimed them to be if not for Bob's DARN electronic weigher.
The best fights came from smaller fish in the one to 2.5 pound range for some reason.. Darn things fought like they were bigger fish.
    Great 2 days.

Best fighters all last year were the 3 pounders versus the 4-6 pounders. I know what you mean on that topic. I was broke off 2 times and I am not 100% sure they were not 3 pounders for I never saw them. The bigger fish last winter tugged a lot but not the quick burst of energy and multiple jumps like the 3 pounders did. I really don't care if they were 3 ouncers, catching Smallies at Dale Hollow, for me it gets no better.

Hey Jim,, Bob didn't start telling you jokes did he? He has a million of them. To be politically correct he usually lets you start out laying out the parameters for degree of crudeness....Joe G:-)

    Jim,

    Great article. Thanks for sharing!!

I've spent many years chasing the big smallie at Dale. However it has been awhile.

Your article brings back great memories and inspires me to get back their this fall / winter.
