    Plastic baits

Do any of you add some type of scent to your plastic baits? If so what do you use? Would you think adding Garlic or salt to a bag of new plastic baits help?

Usually dip the tails or pinchers of plastics in Spike-It Chartreuse Garlic scented.

carolina lunker sauce is the best i have used. Almost every fish i catch with it on my bait almost swallows it. Ive weighed my fair share of dead fish in this year because of this.

    YUM! works

The YUM brand scents have always worked for me! I used to be big on Chompers garlic spray which also worked well, but it is so sticky and if it gets in your eye, your day is ruined! The YUM garlic/anise is my favorite choice. The Live Prey Technology that YUM promotes has been proven in labs and I know wildlife biologists that have copied the labs tests on their own and comfirmed the results.

Any scent that you use will help! Your goal is a natural scent. There are so many ways to contaminate your bait with unnatural scents - fuel on your hands from gassing up the boat, adding oil, or squeezing the fuel primer bulb are all good examples. Adding natural scents to your bait is another great way to help put the odds in your favor and cover up any unnatural contamination.

Another philosophy I've heard and learned to live by is, "If the bass are tired of hamburgers, throw 'em a cheeseburger!"

    Good Luck!

i like the yum stuff too. i'll put the garlic/ail on most of my plastics and the crawdad scent seems to work just as well on craws and jigs. i've been trying some jack's juice here lately and i like that stuff a lot too.

I do like the YUM on my smokey tubes because it adds some red to the bait. I really think they all work. I carry many different die colors because you never know when you want to doctor up a bait to trick those fish. My favorite stuff right now is the Yamamoto paste in a tube (forgot the name)
