I tried to get some Silver Buddies at the Cincinnati, OH
Bass Pro Shop before heading to Lake C-land this past week and
all they had was HUGE ones, 3oz. plus sizes. I heard on this board
that the 1/2 oz. siver color was the ones to get. The salesman
said they were out of the smaller Silver Buddies but for me to try
Cotton Cordell's version called a "Gay Blade". It looked fairly
similar so I got some in silver 1/2 oz size. I also have lures in my tackle box called "Cicadas" that I use at Lake Erie when I go.
Are these lures similar in "catching ability" at C-land? Or is Silver Buddies that dominant of a lure down there. I was hoping to get some KY's, Smallies and LgMouth after fishing for the Stripers
but I couldn't catch any (still learning the lake as it was only my
third trip down there).
I won't be able to get back down there until next spring
or fall. I think I'll be ok on finding and catching the Stripers
from now on but I could use help on targeting the bass. Can anyone
help me on where to fish and catch them? I like the Grider Hill
Dock area so would prefer to fish around the Indian Creek area of the lake but am also willing to "run the lake" to catch 'em too.
I live in Indiana and I only get the chance to go to C-land
about once or twice a year so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, I love this site. You are all a great butch of guys.

IMO--Very similer as far in the tactics used to fish them. I used the gay blades as a kid on herrington for white bass and throw a few silver buddies now. Bottom bouncing at Cumberland should work well for either, if as you know, that's what they want on the given day. Good Luck To Ya!
