    Loomis vs Falcon

I have a couple of the Falcon Cara rods and have wanted to switch to the Loomis rods. Has anybody used both and could see a big difference. Is there a difference in the quality and sensitivity? Is there a big difference in Lommis rods ie glx, imx or gl2? Is it worth the money to get high end Loomis or are they all about the same. Thanks Ryan.

    Ryan,
Have you every heard of RPM Rods/ They are designed and spec'd by Rick Morris(He's the Elite angler that came in second in the classic last year and made the chatter bait so famous). Well they are an awesome rod! Quality of a G without the $$. I am on his pro staff and we are trying to get these rods on the market more. I can make you a sweet deal on some rods. Let me know what you want them for...flipping, cranking, ect.. If you are interested I can take you to the lake so you can try one out first hand. Let me know what you think.

    RE: Loomis vs Falcon

    Falcon is not even close.......

Actually, there are not too many rods that compare to an IMX or GLX rod. Now, you can get rods that are close and better than the GL3, but NOTHING, I mean NOTHING is as sensitive or light as a GLX.

With that being said, I don't own GLX rods....They're too much, and I'm too hard on equipment. BUT, I do have 2 buddies with GLX rods, and I own a couple IMX rods, and they are the BEST I've ever used.

Older Castaway, and AllStar rods are pretty good, and the New MX-10 AllStar rods are pretty good, but comparing a Falcon to a Loomis is a JOKE.

Just my opinion, and like Aholes, everyones got one........

    Warranty

You need to compare warranties. I believe Loomis is $20.00 to replace regardless of what happened for the life of the rod. Loomis could be the last rod you will ever buy. I own 6 and wish I had 6 more.

    $50 to Expedite......but you're right........

I've expedited 2 loomis rods, and they really don't give a RIP how it was broke. I've IMX, and GL3 rods back......one I broke by snapping off in the rod locker. $215.00 Loomis IMX. They replaced for $50.00 bucks........no questions asked.

And another point......I broke an AllStar this past weekend......Painful, and one of my favorite rods. Their warranty is also pretty good, but only for 5 years. After talking to them today, they need proof of purchase, etc before they will replace.

The Loomis warranty is GREAT, and the rods are the BEST in the industry. Maybe Kistler compares.........but I've not used them yet.

Amen on the Loomis rods. Best I ever used and cant wait to get more. I also used the warranty. Called them on a Monday and had a new rod at the house on Wednesday. Sent the old rod back with no questions asked...and thats for the life of the rod...in the longrun i know it will pay for itself time and time again.

I have not used a warrior rod, so I honestly could not tell you how they compare. The website is down right now, hes making some changes. If you like to see one or try it let me know. I'll take you to the lake and let you try one or all them out. Just let me know.

Junktro, What I'd really like is information on their products. I.E. warranty, rod selection, sales reps. etc.
If you're pro-staff you should be able to send me that info.

    RE: Loomis vs Falcon

Thanks guys. All you'll are doing is costing me more money. I've been wanting to get a couple Loomis Rods but never made the move. I guess I will have to buy a couple rods a year and before long I will have all loomis rods. I'm thinking about going with the IMX series.
