Yeah I found out the hard way about the walleye up shallow at
night in the summer. Was out fishing for bass and 10 minutes out
hung into what I thought was a good one. 6lb test, didn't want to horse him, got it to the boat and to my surprise about a 24"-26"
walleye, 2 spins and snap he was gone. Didn't have anything bigger in the boat or any kind of leaders, broke out another 5 in the same size range and a little bigger. After no bass and being broke off 6 times I went to the house. As far as stripers I'm still making an effort.
Just hope the weather cooperates and we find fish. Just once would love to tangle with one of the big guys.
