58? Dang. I knew it would come up with the warmer temps this week, but that's a bit more than I thought. Of course, it was 77 Friday.
Did you throw anything other than jigs? Wonder about the crankbait or jig-n-pig bite.

I guess the only one of the clan left to dust off from the back of the boat with the fly is ...Wormin, and I ain't goin' there....////LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a much needed day on the creek with Big GW. The week was a tough one on me.
I got down there about 7:30am. IT was about 62degrees. It had rained some, but not enough to do any real damage to the creek. I pulled in, got out to pay the money, and here comes the dogs. I pet all three. I know they miss being in the house. Heck, I miss going in the house my self. I petted them. Took a picture of one(this has a meaning).
I went ahead and got rain geared up.
Big GW pulled in we didn't waste anytime getting in the water. Headed straight to the ---------. Had 2 fish on the deadline real quick...Then El Nino/ Squall/ Gall Force winds hit us hard....Phase1 of the cold front.
Big GW found us a spot in the clear and we fished until it past.
The bite was slow at that point.
Around noon the torential rain hit, when it did the fish turned on. We caught quite a few real quick.
Air temp started getting noticably cooler. The rain quit.
Fly TIME...
BigGW dusted of that St Croix and caught his first F-n-F fish. Grinned like a possum in a Mulberry tree....then it happened. He caught his first Stoner Creek smallie on the fly.
We caught 29 fish in all. It's healthly to say at least 18 of them were on the fly....most deadlined....GW's on the float. The wind was tough at time trying to deadline. We had several pull downs that we didn't hookup with maybe it was some small crappie or gills.
5 different colored flys caught fish.
Would like to thank George for having me in his boat. There's something about those Uncles/Bro-in-laws/nephews...good folks.
Now for the kicker. When I got back to my truck, one of those coon dogs left me a big pile of going away present at my drivers door of my truck. Needless to say I had to drive home in my sockfeet because both boots were dog=pooped up....LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks George...
Billy
Guess them dogs don't like their picture taken. LOL!!
Another smallie on the fly there...that's good to see.
Good report fellas.
Hey guys
You better save some for me. I'll be up there Thanksgiving for 4 days. It's good to here the dogs are still there, I looked forward to seeing them and giving a good pettin'. I believe they are part of the fun of Stoner. Mr Fryman told me he used to raise champion coon dogs and take them all over the south hunting. He had the trophies to back it up too.
Later,
Charlie
hey guys, i talked to gw friday night and was going to head to stoner and meet up with gw and billy, but when i woke up, something told me to cedar was the place to be.
gluttin' for punishment for sure.
it rained, the wind howled, my little dynatrak felt like the s.s. minnow if you know what i mean.
scratched out 5 decent fish. big bite was off.
only one other boat on the water. that should have told me something. gw, next time i'll take your advice and head down to stoner with you and billy.

Charlie let us know what dates you can fish and mayby we can put something together.
It still sounded fun, up until the poop on the boots. Did the smallmouth come around the same area as the last one?
Hey Billy I hear (TAIL) that when it gets deep your right in the middle of it! LOL .I Guess I Heard Right. I guess if this keeps up I will have to pull my tub north so you can make it official.
I was looking out for Number 1 and stepped in #2.......
The smallmouth came upstream from that one. Gw and I hit another spot late and it may be a sleeper place later on.
I'm in for Sat on Thanksgiving...
WisH I had went todaY.
Billy
