    RE: check out this toad

It just blows me away that a guy catches a state record, a true fish of a lifetime, and all the high and mighty people on this board climb all over him for not throwing it back. Wouldn't this be a better discussion on the PETA message board???? That guy did nothing to hurt the gene pool. When a fish is that big and old, she has spawned out millions of eggs and her genetics are well dispersed throughout that waterway. I don't know who the fisherman is, but congratulations and enjoy the mount.

    You're right.......

If I catch one like that, or even better than my BEST, then I'm taking it home to be mounted.....PERIOD. I pay my license, and it is my RIGHT to take it.

Also, a Biologist friend of mine said a BIG fish like that is like your GREAT, GREAT grandmother popping out a couple kids. Just because they can produce eggs, don't mean they are viable.

The genetics have already been passed down from the VERY first success spawn this fish had. Over 5-6 years, probably 5 or 6 thousand fish will survive...NOT bad.

    Later,

    Geo

    RE: check out this toad

He even stated that he was sad about not releasing the fish. No high and mighty thoughts here it's just that i agree with the angler that caught the record fish. It's a choice on what you do with your legal catch he made his and it seems he was sad with his decision. Read the article...
