I talked to a guy yesterday who fished Cumberland on 11/15. He said he caught a bunch of fish with a spinning rod, a jig and 8 pound line. He didn't land any big fish but said he lost a real hawg smallie. He also said he talked to a guy that had 2 over 4 pounds using a shakey head worm rig. Good luck to ya! I'll be crappie fishing at Herrington this weekend. This is a real change of pace for me but looking forward to it.
Slow Troll live bait. Read my article on the Front Page.. and view a Video of one of the fish I caught. 4 fish over 4 pounds. Biggest was a Football 4.6 pounder
It is not prime time yet but I would bet you can catch some on the fly. Water temp was 56-57 a couple of days ago and dropping some. With the cold weather we have now and coming thru this weekend, I would bet it drops another couple of degrees. I start fishing it when it hits 55, but 50 is my favorite. Good Luck, if they don't hit the fly, then the jig bite always produces from November on thru winter, small jigs and small diameter line, silver buddy is usually good anytime during the winter on black shale points hopped off the bottom and you may get a few that will still hit a jerkbait. Good Luck
Thanks........
I really think I might try the fly........maybe I won't catch anything, but at least I can start practicing.........And as FAST as I like to fish, this will DEFINITELY slow me down........
Thanks for all the replies.

BTW.....I did spool up some 6lb vanish on my favorite spinning rod. Maybe I will throw a tube, or a curly tail, etc.
