We just heard this morning from a friend of ours that works for Peabody that the sale of the old Peabody Wildlife Refuge has been completed. I have not heard the details of exactly how many acres were ultimately sold, but the I hear it was a lot.
I don't hunt, but I do feel the pain that you hunters are feeling in regards to the lost hunting space. To that end, I think my father in law will sell his land that has several lakes and borders this land, will sell for $5,000 per acre if all is bought at once...LOL.. about 250 acres.
I got to fish four of our lakes today. The fish were up shallow, and caught several nice ones. Had one on that pulled really hard like it was big, but it came off, and I never saw it. I'd say the average was just under 2 lbs. I had a couple of dinks that brought the average down, but several in the 3+ range.
Man, I hate to see the warm weather forcasted to end. I'm sure I'll still manage a little fishing over the winter months though.... or I hope so anyway.
Tight lines and God Bless
Danny
