    RE: ABA @ Cumberland

    Hey Matt,

The way it works as everyone signs up at the ramp as a boater or non-boater. Once all sign up are complete then the non boaters will come up and draw a chip and be partnered up with that boaters number, i.e. if I were to be the 7th one to sign up then I as a boater am number 7 and when you came up to draw as a non boater, if you were to draw #7 then you would be fishing in my boat with me. Keep in mind we are still fishing against each other. You would get the live well behind your seat and I would have the one behind mine. It is between the boater and non boater to determine what the non boater should pay in the way of gas. Hope that helps. It is a great circuit. All the guys are fun to fish with, both George's division and Bruce's.

    Later,
    Marty

    RE: ABA @ Cumberland

Thanks for the explanation Marty. I do things just a little different then Bruce. My boaters also draw a chip for position, this way there are no arguements on who was at the ramp first. It is just a minor detail but thought I should clear it up.
And you are correct the ABA is a great circut!

    RE: ABA @ Cumberland

I should have also stated, if there are no non-boaters then everyone would fish alone. It is still bring a boat use a boat. No forced pairings!
Also, if paired the non has control of fishing locations for 1/2 of the day. The control of the motor via the trolling motor is the boaters choice. Boaters have invested alot of money in their boats and there have been just a few problems with damage that the non would not pay for, so this rule was changed a couple of years ago.
But the boater MUST not do anything to place the non in a disadvantage. If so, they would be disqualified. In all my years this has never happened.

    Hey George....

Since I have fished on Nolin and Rough a couple of times, your district is more apealing to me now. So, I do have one very important question.

Since the ABA has aligned itself with BASS for the weekend series, are you now required to belong to BASS to fish just the ABA series?

Obviously you would have to belong to BASS to fish the BASS weekend series, but I am not interested in that one.

    Thanks George!!

    Tight lines and God Bless

    RE: Hey George....

No, BASS membership is not required in order to fish an ABA tournament. However a ABA membership is required in order to fish the BASS weekend series.
Good luck Danny and hope to see you soon.
