Helment
JUst some advice. The first time I climbed into a boat on Dale it was about 9am in the AM. Air temp was about 30...
Before we launched Phillip asked me if I wanted a helment to wear...NO! I don't need no stinking helment!!!!
He said,"Okay hold on."
We pulled out of Cedar Hill and headed up lake. That Triton planed up and we were cranking. 30 seconds into the run, my eyebrows were stinging.blah..blah...
So I said,UNCLE! And put on the helment....
You can get frostbit quick....so bring one if you have it.

Not everything that gets wet is pretty, but sometimes it gets pretty wet.

RE: Helment
I agree with you on this one , if you got a helmet wear it, that wind, cold air and sometimes little rain falling can be murder on your face. Plus anything can happen, the Helmet might just save your life if the boat was to hit some unknown object in the water and it knocks you out of the boat. Would prevent some mighty ugly head injury with wearing the helmet. my .02 cents.

RE: Helment
Are you wearing just regular motorcycle helmets with a face shield?
-
RE: Helment
That is what I have. I found it in on Ebay for around $40 and it works great.

RE: Helment
I wear one too anytime it raining or below 50. best 40 I have spent.

RE: Helment
I've got one of those Fishedz masks that works pretty good...sometimes I think a motorcycle helmet would be better though...

RE: Helment
What dont you like about the mask slipshit? im thanking of getting one.... Brian

RE: Helment
If you ever travel at 65mph for 5 minutes or more in 35 degree temps you will love the helmet. It protects your whole head and if your a non-boater it's a must! Another thing about it I really like is the fact that the helmet greatly reduces wind noise...especially helpful on those long runs.

RE: Helment
Fishunter,
I didn't mean to dog the Fishedz mask. It's okay. In the cold, it's not the full coverage that a motorcycle helmet gives. Of course, it's not as heavy and bulky to store and doesn't take up space like a motorcycle helmet does either. I stick it under the driver's seat and forget about it, so that's nice.
Mine fogs up just a bit, regardless of what they say. I don't know if that's because of the balclava that I wear under it in the winter or what...maybe I'm just a foggy kind of dude. lol
Remind me next time you're over at Stoner and you can take mine for a test run.

RE: Helment
Rub some dish washing liquid on the inside of the visor in a very thin layer, this should stop the fogging.
