Hey George, who is your dealer? I bought from Jeta and they have hooked my boat up several times for me to find out information, and no $200 charge.
Man, I wish you luck!

Two suggestions:
1. find another dealer (at the most it should not cost you whatever fraction of an hour's rate it takes to check it out) and if you deal at that place it shouldn't really cost you anything.
2. Don't use the dealer that employs the mechanic that told Colby that Optimax's are suppposed to use twice the oil of a conventional two stroke.
200.00 to hook you up to a computer....how about sharing with us the name of that dealer?
George,
I've stayed out of this because Dave has been giving you great advice, and he continues to do so. If it isn't a long drive, and they aren't going to charge you to hook it up, then do so. My Opti uses no where near the amount of oil my old engines used. Maybe because I don't run it wide open either. I don't do that for fuel consumption but do it because everytime someone has told me they blew up their motor, they say they were running WOT. In fact I was with a guy who had just had his motor rebuilt the year before, and he ran wot everytime we moved. I was suggesting that he consider backing off a bit, and he said to run my boat my way, and he'd run his boat his way. On the way back to the ramp, he blew the engine.... again!! I don't think he runs wot all the time anymore. LOL
Good luck,
Tight lines and God Bless
Danny
