Hey Buddy did you get my response as how to catch bait? if not let me know.

Yes, thanks for the information. I usually launch my boat at different areas of the lake--mostly around All.1, so I don't really have access to a dock. I purchase a cast net last summer and am still trying to learn to throw the thing--I can't seem to make the perfect throw.
I saw somebody mention a floating net to catch shad--have you ever heard about it? It I ever find somebody who has access to a dock--I probably couldn't throw a net; therefore, the floating net might be a possible solution. I appreciate the information--I usually fish on weekends for stripers.
Thanks again--
hey nothing wrong with that i am usually only down there on weekends as well. I have heard of guys using drop nets but i do not and that only works in the spring when the bait comes right up to the top. If you want help throwing a net go to the Calusa website. The way they show on there is the way i throw my net and it works very well. If you are not comforatable throwing a net still then if you have a friend or two then you can put a light out in a boat slip and then each person grab a side and then pull the net across the slip and just drop it. I have done this many times too and you get the net fully open if you have 4 people everytime!!! And there is the benefit of not having a splash to spook the bait. If you ever see me down there say hi. I will always be in a white and black Nitro Bay boat with a 125 Merc on the Back. Many times i fish with my girlfriend because i can't get my friends to go. Well good luck with it and if you want to get a good net let me know i can help with getting one cheaper maybe.

Thanks for the information. I am still learning to striper fish. I have a white Javelin fishing boat with a Johnson 175. I usually fish the Lilly, WOlfe and Caney Creek area. For the most part I usually buy my shinners from the basspro shop in Jamestown. Good luck fishing. I haven't had any luck fishing the last few times==mostly around WOlfe Creek lately around Alg. 2.
