Yes for maybe 1-2 hours first thing in the morning. Right now if you are not throwing a jig on Cumberland you are beat !!!!! Ask around find out how many fish are being caught on the fly. John and shannon Deevre weighed in 39 lbs in 2 sunday events and all they throw is a jig. Oh and by the way the day they had ONLY 18 lbs Flippin Drew had 25lbs all on a jig. The "fly" guys where already eating at sonny's barbecue by the time the weigh in started lol

WAIT your turn it is still a little early. Runs in cycle, jig bite then water temp drops another 5 degrees and BAM FLY TIME !!!

Spotboy the guys you mentioned are all known to be jig fisherman, but that's not all they have been throwin here lately. The buggy whip "f-n-f" is workin, but the bluebird skies on tournament days haven't helped it a bit, oh by the way the jig works all winter to.

No need for a debate. I just really wanted my dad to get one on the float and fly since it is his first time. I was hooked a long time ago. I figured if we didn't get any hits after a while I would switch to the jig.

Either end is going to be about the same right now. What fly bite there is, is going to be within the first 2 hours of light, then is going to fade quickly. Fish the points and cuts and stay out of the sun. You might catch a few or several small fish, but don't expect a lot of fish or many (or any) big fish. It is still a little early this year. Big fish are still fairly deep.

You have differentiate whether you need to fill the live well for a check or just go fishing.

I would be throwing the fly all day on Cland. May not catch as many as those throwing a jig, but that's just me.
Look for some shade all day. Look for some shade all day. If it's cloudy then YEEHAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But don't let someone keep you from fishing the way you want to,

    Billy
