    Mossyback Rods?

Has anyone used these rods yet? Where can you find some around the Louisville area? Are they made by Gloomis or just sold through them. Looking to buy some new rods this next year if I can sell some houses in this soft market. Are they as good as loomis and is the warranty the same. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if anyone is looking at buying or selling their home or want a new one give me a buzz.

    RE: Mossyback Rods?

Yes Loomis makes the Mossyback series I think they rank close to the IMX series if you dont want to buy the GLX series which are Lommis' top of the line rods. I've used my buddies Mossyback rod and I liked it alright. The warranty stands as one of the best in the bussiness still "Lifetime". Im not for sure about Louisville area but they sale them at Backwaters in Somerset, or in Lexington (the one store in Lexington is now under new ownership the name might change, im not for sure it's on Woodhill Dr. If you want to order from Bill at Backwaters you can order the rods online at www.backwatersonline.com) The new owner told me they would still carry Loomis and jack should still be there.

I'm thinking about buying 3 of them myself. I can't see GLoomis making a bad rod. I will be buying mine from backwaters online. i think any order over $100 you get free shipping. I've heard the mossyback is a good rod. I can't bring myself to buy the glx for $400. If I had the money I would, but I have to keep in mind just because I have a loomis rod I'm not going to catch more fish. Edwin Evers uses BPS Rods and reels and he can spank my tail any day on the lake.

Not necessarily true......I just wanted to comment on your statement about a rod not helping you catch more fish. Whether it is a Loomis or not, my personal opinion is that a higher quality rod will help you catch more fish especially when fishing a bait such as a worm or jig by feel, etc.. The reason being is that the sensitivity on some rods is so much better than others therefore you detect more bites especially those which are subtle and therefore you catch more fish. Not as important on a moving bait such as a crankbait or spinnerbait.

You may want to check Bullfrog Creek, here in Louisville. They are a G-Loomis dealer and are pretty reasonable on their prices. They are located on Bardstown Road in Buechel.

    RE: Mossyback Rods?

I was told by the guy at Backwaters in Somerset that the mossyback rods are a glx blank with one extra wrap on the rod. All I can see this doing is adding a little weight but for half the price I would buy one in a heartbeat if I was in the market.

I was just in BPS last week and I did not see the Mossyback. All I seen was GLX, IMX and Bronzeback. Where did they have them located?

    RE: bump

i was wrong it was the bronzeback i saw but the guy there said the same thing aout the price,if someone is cutting the price and loomis finds out they will take their rods away he said every model should be the same price everywhere unless someone raised them but that wouldn't make sense i don't think.
