To catch more fish or at least tell bigger and better lies about catchin em.

How many folks have got there New Year Resolutions ready for 07. Me for one would like to try and be more patient and really learn the art of fishing, and number two catch at least a 6lb brownfish on the F-n-F so I can at least give Elnut a run for his money. LOL Hope everyone has a very prosperous year not only in fishing but in all you do.
To catch more fish or at least tell bigger and better lies about catchin em.
Ahhh yes, the art of telling about the one that got away...I truly do believe it is a form of art, one that some guys have perfected to a tee, right Elwood? LOL...
As for New Years Resolutions, I haven't made any and generally never do, but if I were going to make a resolution it would to be go to the lake (some lake, somewhere, preferably Dale, Cumberland and Green River) at least once a month, or at least an average of twelve times over the course of the year...It sure sounds do-able anyway.
I hereby resolve to go fishing every time I get the chance and lie about fishing whether I go or not.
Uhh wait a minute...I already do that.
Nevermind.
Expand my horizons when it comes to fishing techniques. No more banging the bank fishing the same tired points and laydowns as every other boat on the water. Hopefully, I will be able to learn my electronics on my new boat enough to find humps and ledges that don't get so much fishing pressure. Ahh, who am I fooling, they don't call me Chunknwind for nothing. Cliff
I'm going to try REEEEEEEAALY hard not to divorce my ^*^$% wife. She may drive me to it. :7
I see a White and Chartreuse Spinnerbait in you future with that underhand flip cast to minimize the splash you have perfected so well at every piece of visible cover known to man for all of 2007. Heck, I just hope Triton will deliver you boat in 2007. At the current delivery rate, the 2008 models will be out and $1,000 cheaper than what you paid for your 2007 ride.
Seriously, my resolution is to learn to fish deep water humps and ledges to the point that I have confidence in what I am doing. My other resolution is to get Cliff (Netboy) his first 5 pound Brownfish on the FNF in 2007, EARLY in 2007 at that!!!!!!!
Fishing underwater structure that you can't see is hard for some. But the rewards can be great. Check out the new Humminbird Side Scanning Sonar units. These have dropped in price 50%. They use to sell for $2000 but the newer smaller units are half that price. They will show you what's on either side of your boat out to 80 ft maybe as you travel around the lake at slow speed. You can actually map the entire lake if you want to take the time. That and you can actually stop the boat and the screen scroll and mark any interesting things on the screen. This will allow you to save not on the screen shot of the image you saw but it's UTM or map coordinates to memory. This will allow you to mark a spot that's behind your boat and off to the side of your boat for later use. Simply save the spot as a waypoint on the unit and then use the units goto function or map view to take you right back over that spot. Notice a drop off or a creek river intersection with hard rocks or boulders near the intersection when you pass over such a spot while sidescanning. Simply mark the spot with the screen curosor and then save the spot as a way point. Find a field of submerged stumps in 20ft of water along the top of a ledge and mark that spot too.
With the new technology of GPS Satellites and Sidescanning Sonar Units the fish can not hide from the fisherman any longer. We may have to search a while but eventually we can find them. Now if we can just make them open their mouths and take the hook.
My new Years Resolution is the get me one of these new Humminbird LCR Side Scanning Sonar Units with the Maps of my favorite lakes preloaded on it.
