...or a dumb a** one, when you have to withdraw from all your college courses that spring because you skipped all your classes to either go fishing or stay at home and read fishing posts, reports, or look for a boat to buy in the internet. Oh well, I like fishin a whole lot more than school anyway!

When you leave for a tournament at Rough while its snowing so hard you cant even see to drive, when you finally get to the ramp theres only 3 other boats. You still fish the tournament with 2-3 inches of snow covering the entire boat.
1. When your kids shoelaces break and you replace them with 20# fireline and teach them to tie their shoes with a palomar knot
2. when you modify a bait and try it in the bathtub to see its action and spend 15 minutes trying to get the hooks unstuck from the drain (dont ask)
3. when you have to buy your wife a new candle holder because you knocked it off the wall in the hallway while practicing pitching (**** cat)
4. when you have to explain to you wife why the cats foot is bleeding(see #3)
When you mount your mailbox on top of the motor!
when you push off of a stump, the stump breaks off and you fall in waste deep water. water temps 40 degrees, air temps 25 degrees, 5 miles from the boat ramp, 15 minutes after you put in. you tie up you bibs and jacket to the seat post on the back deck and say run this SOB for 20 minutes and they should dry out or freeze. if they freeze we'll leave. they dried out. wasn't me, it was a friend of mine in my boat. crazy SOB.
You go fishing even though your wife is not feeling well. Later she calls you only to tell you she has Phnemonia.

Wife feeling kinda poorly with Head ache, but had a men's slow pitch softball game @ 5:00 pm and after the game had a 12 hour night tournament... Got home only to find Wife had to be taken to Hospital with Most Severe Migrain Headache in the world...Didn't matter to her at all that I won the tournament and the softball game.... Man what a night I had...awesome....
After you blew your last thrity five bucks on those Banjo Minnows instead of paying the gas bill.
Wife goes into labor with first born and neighbor takes her to hospital while you are fishing on Rough... (true story)!
Now the rest of the story. She was 2 weeks over due and we were both on pins and needles waiting for her to go in labor when she decided she was going back to work for a day and "told" me I could go fishing. It was mid-March, the worst time to ground a die-hard fisherman and she didn't have to say it twice. When I came home my neighbor met me backing the boat in the drive way and said my wife was at the hospital. Fortunately, she didn't give birth until morning (never would have lived that down) and the results were a 10 lb 2 oz keeper. Shame I couldn't match that on the water!

You stick to you guns and keep fishing plans in late May even though heavy rains and tornados hit the night before. The small lake you fish the next morning is up about 8 feet and SUPER MUDDY. You get blanked for 2 straight hours and decide to try another lake. While getting the boat out of the lake and off the property you get the trailer stuck in the mud. AAA comes out 2 hours later and you're back on the road. Drive 2+ hours to another lake where you know you'll find better conditions and water clarity. Fish for 5 hours and catch about 6 bass. AND, I still remember my best fish that day. Caught a scrappy 3 pounder on a Pop R!
