My first FNF rod was a BPS Micro Lite. I didn't like the rod because it was a little too soft for me even though I know several on here like them. It was like a wet noddle, lol. I don't think they make it anymore but I bought a couple 8'6" BPS Tourney Special rods designed for salmon fishing and they are much better, still with a soft tip (medium action) but a little more backbone. The best rod for the money I have found for fishing the FNF. I bought 'em on sale for $25 a couple years ago. I personally would not recommend the BPS Micro Lite but it would serve the purpose. I have not used one yet but for the money B&M make some that sound good. Also, I think Jim Duckworth has a version off the B&M with his specifications that seems to be well balanced and would make a nice rod for around $50 (I believe). I hear Backwaters has some of the B&M rods and of course you can't go wrong with a Loomis. I missed one this summer for $80 and bought one this fall for $100. Good luck and let us know if you have any questions because there are some experienced FNF'ers on here that can provide some good input.
