    RE: Nashville Show

I live in Nicholasville, and have been to the Nashville Show for the past six years.Yes, it is worth driving 3 hours. There are some boats but there are a lot of tackle. I have also been to the Louisville show for the past five years. To compare the two, the Nashville show is by far the best. There is also a breakfast on Saturday morning in Nashville. There are about 55-60 guys who get together and eat, tell lies, eat more and do alot of networking. It is open to everyone. There is many prizes and samples for everyone. If you want more info about the breakfast look up it up on Bass Fishing Home Page for more info. Hope you will consider coming on down.

    Go To Indy

I've never been to Nashville, but I've heard from people its a good show but not as good as Indy Boat Show in Feb. We have a booth there every year and it's the best fishing tackle show I've ever been too and is an absolute mad house.

The Nashvilee fairgrounds show is good one for tackle but Matt is right...Indy in definitely better. I would go to both!!

    RE: Go To Indy

Judging from what I'm reading here it sounds to me like the Louisville Boat Show is leaving a lot to be desired when compared to other shows in the region.

As for the upcoming Jim Strader Show...I went last year and even though I don't have another fishing and hunting show to compare it to, I would say in my own personal opinion that it was "ok"...The reason I say this is because the show felt to me like it leaned more towards hunting than it did fishing. Although I did happen to come across an old style Curado that I bought while there. I know some of you that frequent this site went, what do you all think?

    RE: Go To Indy

Louisville's not bad. The boat shows in general are not really strong with fishing tackle anymore due to the cost of the space. The promoters sell out their space so easily now to the boat/rv dealers that its hard for them to justify selling space at a reduced cost so tackle stores can come in. Plus the ever popular big box stores, Bass Pro Shops for example have eliminated so many little tackle stores in the regions where they open up, that there is now less of a pool of mom and pops to go to the boat shows, and NONE of the big box stores take fishing tackle to the boat shows.

I think Louisville is worth going to. It's got about 10-15 booths, including Plapp's Tackle Trailer. Now Indy probably has 100-125 booths
