Looking for suggestion on tourney in Mar. or Apr.

Our club is planning on putting on a tournament in March or April at Taylorsville Lake. We are guaranteen a $1000 for first place if we have 75 boats. The rest will be a 80 or 85% payback. Does anyone think we will get enough boats that time a year.

Maybe, but recommend doing some research on other circuits, and club tourney schedules go to http://fw.ky.gov/tournamentschedule....1&NavPath=C102
to search other local bodies of water for conflicting dates. There is only 2 tournamens on the website for T-vile now. Which might be a good indication of its popularity or lack thereof. Then start advertising asap and as many places as possible on web and in tackle shops. Having sponsors to give door prizes or guaranteed monies also helps. I think the Tuesday night tournaments used to get 70 boats, but not sure if its that many in recent years. April would be better than March in my opinion.
