RE: Advice on Weekend cabin Near KY Lake

I've really been thinking a lot about this. You have some excellent points already given by the two posters, but I would add peace of mind if the cabin is not in some type of development where you really trust the people. What I mean by that, is you need to have someone you trust to watch over your things.

As far as the area of the lake, I think it sounds pretty good. As a rule, one can usually count on heading south to get away from the crowds, at least to a point.

I have to admit, my ideal cabin on the lake would be on a paved lot so there would be no grass cutting, and would have security patrols. However, if you are at least in a neighborhood, you might make friends with your neighbors and they may be able to watch over the place.

As for investment, it would really depend upon the the property itself. Location, location, location, is the rule of real estate.

Good luck, let us know your decision, and let's throw one heck of a cabin warming party when you get it.... fishing is of course mandatory. LOL

    Tight lines and God Bless

RE: Advice on Weekend cabin Near KY Lake

Thanks Guys. I really have Dave Stewart to blame for all this. My Fishers of Men Partner and I hired Dave out a few years ago and every since then I have fell in love with the place. Dave, I even thought of relocating and buying the Baits and Bullets Property!! Hard to convince my wife and daughter..

The cabin is in a little neighborhood with minimal upkeep. If I bought the place I would put some gravel on it for more parking (For the party of course!!) and maybe even put a garage to store my boat.

Location could be better in my mind. Its just north of Big Sandy. Kind of off the beaten path but I do like the idea of getting away from crowds.

I may run down next weekend to check things out again and make a final decision. Thanks again guys!!

Eric it is definitely not hard to fall in love with this area and the fishing here..lol. That is why I am living and working here and not back in the city where I could be making more money and working less hours...lol.

If you ever did buy Baits and Bulltes you would get a lot of my gas money...I sure buy a lot of gas there over the season...not to mention some lures...lol.
