Stop fishing for bass and become a crappie fishermen. Big Sandy area is good crappie fishing territory all year round. Beside you can eat Crappie and they are very good tasting fish. And if you find the right spot you can catch a mess of big slabs. No bass fishing can do that. When was the last time anyone caught and took home 30 bass to EAT for supper for the next three months?
And you won't be sore at the end of the day when you relax and catch crappie
Hey what am I saying here. We have too many other crappie fisherman now. The size limit keeps getting larger and the number of crappie that we can take home to eat keeps getting smaller.
So forget what I said above. You won't need to fish for crappie, just stick with fishing for bass. yea that's it.
Seriously the Big Sandy area is a good area to catch fish both crappie, bass and other fish.
I fished out of Cypress Bay and it's a nice little deep water bay that can be fished even when the big lake gets too rough. East West running bays are not so wind sweep as the main lake. And Cypress Bay is just down river from Big Sandy.
