    Speaker holes

Hey, do any of you guys know of a website that would tell the exact location of where to cut holes for speakers for a 2000 Ranger R93?

I know the R93 has the stereo as a factory installed option (heck, my console has the box for it, just no stereo in it!). If anyone has a boat of similar model with speakers in it, please let me know about where to cut the holes! I've got a couple of places that might work, but I'd like to know for sure where Ranger puts them!

My R91 came with stereo. The speakers are located on the inside walls of the rod lockers about 1/3 of the way toward the bow from the console...centered.

    Hey Scott,

You may not care about this but sound travels much better through water than it does through the air. In fact, conversations in the boat are OK because the majority of the sound reflects off the surface of the water. However, noise made in the boat that is in the hull, or caused by the vibration of the hull will send the sound through the water, alerting the fish of your presence.

An alternative may be to use an Ipod or walkman and earphones??

    Just a thought, good luck,

    Tight lines and God Bless

Yes Danny, I know that already! Marine stereos come with a weather band now.....I want to have that installed so when I hear some thunder in the distance, I can tune in and get an idea of what's coming! Also, I want the CD player/radio for those days when the fishing is slow and I'd rather sit in the Rock Quarry and fish for women!!! I love those hot days in the quarry during the summer, especially when some women feel that clothing becomes optional ;-)

    Gregory,

I bought that Ranger Dec. 30th from Sportsmans Edge in Paducah. They know what they're doing down there (I think they took some lessons from Plapp's)! Their service was great and they are friendly as can be! Anyhow, I love my boat! It's a 2000 R93 with a 200hp Mercury EFI. Options include: hotfoot, hydraulic steering, hydraulic jackplate, Garmin GPS, Garmin fishfinders, Minn Kota trolling motor, and a three bank on-board charger. Heck, it even has a swim ladder which always comes in handy. And to top it all off, the color matches my truck perfectly!!! Give me a call sometime if you ever make it down to the Ky Lake area! I plan on fishing a few ABA's, BFL as a non-boater again, and some local events like the Jet-A-Marina Classic and the Christmas for Kids tournament. I'll also be leaving out on March 21st for the Arkansas Tech Invitational on Lake Dardanelle. I'm trying to talk Cody into taking his drag boat as well. Eric might go and possible Chris Wright too. It's should be a really good time! There's 80+ boats expected.

I'm not sure if your joking, but your correct, we did help train the everyone at Sportsman Edge. Their came up a few times and worked at the store and boat shows to get an idea of how to run a business like that, and from what I can tell their doing a pretty good job. Their a great group of people.

If I was you I would not touch that boat with anything, I'd take it to a dealer who knows what they are talking about. I know you know Wes Garrison and that crew from Louisville, ask them about their friend who tried to install his own rod holders in his Nitro F/S and ended up with 4 large holes in the side of the boat, and it did not look pretty, I should know he traded it in to us.

Have a dealer do what they do best, work on boats. Do not try it yourself.

Ha ha ha!!! Is marriage all that bad?! Seems like your opinion is the same across the board! I plan on getting one of those wives that likes to fish and wear a bikini at the same time! Is that too much to ask for?!?!

    Scott,

No, marriage is not bad at all, as long as you get a good one. Had I still been married to my first wife, I would probably know more about the quarry.... I found I really didn't care much for her...LOL... but I've got the best there is now. She wants me to fish as much as possible, when buying my boat, she wanted to add on every single option possible, she always puts me first in anything, and I try to do the same. She is absolutely my best friend, and she used to fish with me until medical problems sidelined her.

Don't be afraid of marriage, just be afraid of a bad wife...LOL

    Matt,

I've thought about that. I really don't want to take it to the local Ranger dealer (you know which one I'm talking about) after they wouldn't hardly talk to me when I was boat shopping. I'll probably see the guys at Sportmans Edge this weekend at the Murray boat show and see what they say.

Those Sportmans Edge guys told me about their training. I'd say you've taught them well!
