    Funny you mention seeing that fish Joe, for I have seen that fish. It was February 2005 and Chunknwind was with me as I fought one at least that size on the FNF. She was my "Fish of a Lifetime" and I can still tell you everything about the fight. I know the EXACT spot that I cast to hook her and make a cast at this spot every time I go to Dale. I even have the jig that has a hook about as straight as a string that the big girl left me as a gift.

    Speaking of Chunknwind, he will be getting his brand new 2007 Triton ride next friday and off to Dale we will go to break her in plus catch that elusive 12 pounder. I am excited and it is not even my boat.

    Welcome Larry "Phoenix"

    Does that nickname have a story behind it? Such as your 8lber, perhaps you had given up fishing, sold everything, then just like the phoenix rising from the ashes, you took fishing back up, and on your first trip, you landed that beauty?

    Welcome to the board, hope to hear errrrrr.... read some great fishing stories.

    Tight lines and God Bless

    Thanks Biggw, if I knew how hard it would be to wait for this thing to be built I probably would have just bought an 06 and been done with it. Hopefully, Elnuts and I can get on a few fish and break her in right.:-)

    Welcome to fishin.com Phoenix and darn good lookin' fish! This board tends to be habit forming after awhile, it is for me anyway. The first thing I do Monday - Friday when I get to work is check out this site...Lots of good guys here, lots of good information...and sometimes lots of good clean/weird humor (correct fishgurl?)

    Hey Danny;
    Thanks for the reply, no there's nothing that exotic going on here, phoenix is just the name of my HB, and i thought it would be a good nick.
