    RE: Walleye on Laurel Lake

I didn't catch any walleye, but i did catch 2 really nice smallmouth. It seems that all i catch is smallies when I'm wallyeye fishing. Maybe i should start smallmouth fishing so i can catch walleye. The smallmouth i caught were suspended at about 35ft in 50-75ft of water. I caught them both on the purple wally minnow. I couldn't find a purple wally diver or a clown color.

    good luck
Any specific areas better than others in April?

Try fishing the grove area all the way up to Line creek. Spruce creek has also produced some nice walleye over the past couple of years

The locals are keenly aware of the walleye in their lake but tighted lipped about them. I had a guy in the bait shop tell not to waist my time fishing for them but his teenaged son spilled the beens on some of their outstanding nights fishing off points. Good luck!

I've always fished mostly around the Marsh branch area and occassionally grove and spruce.
