    shipping??

I went online to BPS I have been after this Daiwa reel for a long time, so i'm ready to buy, X HSD-F 209.95 ok shipping 13.95 I say what? so I look up a BPS Mega Cast 29.95 shipping 6.95 so I call and ask was told that is the it has always been. Oh a Daiwa STEEZ 449.95 shipping 13.95. What do yo think, does it cost moore to ship a $210.00 reel than it does a $30.00 reel ??? oh Cabala's is the same way maybe a few cents cheaper

    RE: shipping??

I am certainly no shipping expert, but do know that when my company sends out packages that has a valuable item in it, we pay extra for insurance based on the value of the item in case it does not reach it's destination or is damaged in transit. The higher the cost for the reel would result in a higher cost for insurance but I would think $7-$8 higher is a little much.

There are a lot of companies out there that will give you free shipping for orders over $100.00. Have you looked at backwaters online. You should find that reel else where to save on shipping.

What I've found is some places charges shipping by the amount spent and not by the weight. Like it was said look around and you should be able to find the reel with free shipping, maybe on sale... lol

    RE: shipping??

I always ask for free shipping when I buy something that expensive. All they can say is "NO". But I bet 90% of the time they transfer me to customer service and the supervisor gives me free shipping. And you will love that reel. I have had one for 3 years now, very nice.

    RE: shipping??

I don't get it, you spend 210.00 on a fishing reel, and then you are complaining about the cost of shipping....come on.... A reel would have to fish by itself before I would spend 210.00 on it.... No matter what someone says, a 50.00 dollar reel is going to fish just as good as a 210.00 reel hands down.... Your just wasting your money IMHO....Put the money to good use, but more tackle... Just venting....

This is why I support local fishing shops whenever possilbe. I would rather support them than be ripped off with inflated fees.

    Floatman,
Does it take a $210.00 reel to catch those blue fish?

    RE: shipping??

Shipping calculations are basically distance, weight and insurance if needed or required. You have to watch some companies though cause they will sell you a product and then put their margin in the shipping charge and most people I am sure don't catch it.

    RE: shipping??

I think most of the local Bass Pro Shop dealers will order stuff for you so you don't have to pay shipping. I know the fella that runs the bass pro over near Cedar Creek always offered to, he said it helped him by moving more bass pro mechandise through his business.
