    Comparing the cost of fishing.

Me thinks I know why momma gets so mad at me.

    1. Minn Kota® Maxxum® Pro Bow Mount MAXXUM PRO 101/US2 = $1229.99. For the same money I could have bought her a brand new GE 18.2 cu/ft refrig with ice maker, new glass top electric range, and new dish washer.

    2. ETX10HC RIGHT-HAND RETRIEVE Extreme™ Baitcast Reel = $44.99
For 6 dollars less than that, I could have gotten 4 new nickle plated domed hallway lights at Lowe's.

    3. 40 gallons of gas for the boat and truck to fish 2 days at Cumberland @$2.25/gallon = $90, that could have bought 4 Gallons of paint at $22.50 per gallon, and repainted the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a bedroom.

    4. 2 Led lights to light the live well, and storage bin = $29.00, that could have bought a fairly nice set of Nickle bathroom fixtures at Target to replace the wood ones in the guest bathroom.

Real-estate man walks up to the house and comments he thinks my boat is in great shape. Walks into the house and says without new lights, new appliances, and fresh paint, the house we're selling will go for $10,000 less, and that means we'd have a hard time buying the new rancher we want that takes the load off momma's bad knees when she has to hump dirty and clean clothes between floors, and climb stairs to go to bed at night, then descend stairs with stiff overnight knees to get to work.

I guess in self defense, buying these things for a boat doesn't cause a wife to have arthritic knees. But I now know that buying these things, can cause wife inflicted brusing on MY forehead. Pain hurts, no matter where, and no matter what the cause.

So lessons learned. Next time, I'm gonna' buy a HOUSEBOAT. At least that way anything I buy to go fishing or for the boat IS something for the HOUSE, and does improve the homesteads value, and does keep momma on a single story dwelling to make her knees happy. Can't have happy feet if they aren't attached via smiling knees. I guess compromise isn't all bad. No more lugging ice chests of beer around for a fishing trip, no more packing clothes, and no more having to run to the dock for hot coffee on a cold night when the top water fishing is good. And I'd always be home when I was fishing, and always be fishing when I was home. No more waiting at the ramps.

Why do I always learn this stuff in retrospect?

Hey buddy, you gonna finish that beer?.......I think I need it worst than you right now..........

Okay Bob, all are very understandable problems with a very agreeable way of solving the problem. But remember, you do away with all the problems and things you may need to get away from, then part of the excuse to get away and go fishing are then gone also. So,-- how do you weigh all this for the perfect answer?

Lmao...I never really thought of it that way....But hey she told me to buy myself a new boat...exception being that she got to pick out the color..... Nooooooo problem here heck I can fish out a blue & white boat, just as easy as I can a solid white one or Red one... So I got a white one with top half blue metal flake and a stripe of metal flake blue running along the side..... Really a nice looking boat even though it is Blue......
