is there a horsepower limit on this lake and is it open year around or closed for any reason during the winter

There was not a hp limit last time I was on Egypt but that has been years ago. The fishing there is good year around as the water stays warm thanks to the discharge from the power plant. It's not a big lake and there is a limit as to how fast you can travel and I think it's 45 mph.

According to info I have there is no HP restriction. It is privately owned by Southern Illinois Power Cooperative and they set the rules . Ther's a speed limit and some areas are restricted. Daily use permits are required, available at local marinas.
