Down the south end of Ft. Myers beach is Lovers Key State Park. You can fish off the beach here and a few years ago, before they dredged and renourished the beach, the fishing was good. Sharks and Snook in the AM and trout most of the day. Wiggins Pass to your south is good too at times. You might want to try the forum for Southwest Florida on the Florida Sportsman web site too, they have a lot of postings.
