Cool! Thanks for the info... part of the reason I never went was because I thought you needed an IN fishing license. As close as I live to it, I really ought to go. What time of year do you go? Can you go when it's cold? What size rod/reel/line do ya'll use? (Don't mean to bomb ya'll with questions, just haven't gotten out in a while, too cold to get the boat out - it's not really a fishing boat, more of a recreational boat, but free to use when I want so I can't complain... anyways, haven't been fishin' for a while and need to get some action!)

I like going down there when the water is low and you can get out on the edge of the rock flats. Seems like you don't hang up as much when the water is lower. I've always caught something down there using just plain old curly tailed jigs or some of those storm rippin' shad swim baits. The rippin' shad swim baits have a treble hook that hangs from the bottom of the lure, which I usually always foul hook a nice cat or two! When that current is rolling and you have a five or six pound cat hung in the tail, it makes for a fun fight! It's awesome!!!

Didn't mean to hijack ya'lls thread either, so I found the above websites that might help with the info you were looking for, I'm not sure. Of course, the phone # works better probably...

So, back to the fishing there, is this time of year a good time to go?

Okay... dagnabit, I need to go fishin'!!! Can't make a long trip anywhere also, and wanna wait for the warmer weather before getting the boat out, wish I could just get my own (the one I use now is a "family" boat - more rec. than fishin'), then I could just go when I wanna! LOL! When are water levels expected to get lower, what's the best level?

I don't know the exact elevation, I just know when I see the rock flats exposed, it's time to go fishin' !!! I drive across the 2nd street bridge everyday to go to work and those flats haven't been exposed in weeks! The way the rain keeps falling who knows when the water will go down!

Ever heard of the Jefferson County Sportsmans Club ?? They have a nice little lake there that's fun to fish. It's not too far out of the Louisville area and it's always peaceful and relaxing to fish. I joined last year and have really enjoyed it!

Hadn't heard of it... they got a website I could check out and find out how to join?

Is there a webcam or anything you know of that shows the flats? I'll look around and see what I can find...

when judging the water level there i have heard from a freind that the upper and lower gauge doesnt make that much of a differance it is the amount of D A M that they are running. we usually go when it is 30ft or lower.i have been fishing there for about a year and a half and its a great place to fish almost all year round. i never knew there was a phone number i thought he got the info off the web.
