Boat Trailer License Plates

This may be old news but I heard about this today for the first time from a boat dealer at the Louisville Boat Show . Starting this year you will have to purchase a license plate for your boat trailer in addition to your license for your boat. New boats will come with a title for the boat / motor and one for the trailer. Anybody else heard anything about this.

Same is true here. Got pulled over in florida and was also let go, said he knew but was looking for something else to get us on. Thank goodness he didnt see our guns and open beer cans.

For what is worth: I was told at the court house when I license this year that if a boat was being pulled by a truck with commercial license then the trailer had to be licensed, but if tow vehicle has reg. car tags the trailer doesn't have to be licensed. But if you pull out of state needs to be licensed

I get the plate every year I only put it on when I go old of state just to keep from getting pulled over because once they pull you over they will find something to ticket you for IMHO.

Maybe in NY but not in KY I have got several convictions in court for this. It goes by state law in KY. I don't anything about the law in other states.
