I was a young aspiring basketball coach at Springs Valley H. S. and fished every chance that I got with my dad and a good friend that taught there also. Man do I remember that first Ambassadeur!! I used a Johnson Century also. Made many trips to the lakes in Ky. and still do.

I too was in the U.S. Army, stationed in the armpit of the Army. Ft Riley, KS.
I was newely married and also drag racing. 1969 351 mercury cycolne GT.
IS/A. Just had gotten back from a year in Korea (6 months). My brother was in Nam, so they sent me there. Did a little fishing I KS, but more racing. Man those were the days, music was understandable and sad something..Life was so much simpler than...

Larry was in the 7th grade when I was the asst. coach there.

I was 14 going on 15, a freshman in high school,a under classman to the rest of the school and catching alot of flack, and trying to stay out of trouble and make passing grades to make my folks proud or aleast happy. About that time I started looking at girls, one in particular a cute little green eyed brown hair girl in my class that we both sort of hit it off and clicked together. Four years later at graduation time we were still together in 73 and tied the knot that november. 33 years later we are still together, with two grown daughters and 2 wonderful grandkids. Wow, how the years have slipped by in a hurry. Yea, I can definitely say she is a keeper and life is good!!

I was 15 then and was waiting for spring. Dad took the whole family camping for 2 weeks on Herrington Lake every year. We were there for the white bass run. We camped across from Kings Mill boat dock on that cow pasture just below the rock wall. I dont know if it was that year or not but i had a big nightcrawler on a bobber about 3 ft deep sitting out there by a stump and all of a sudden it was gone and wow and behold when i finally wrestled that old moss back in it was huge(to me atleast) not sure what it weighed but it sure eat good. Dont eat em no more. Anyway the white bass was the thing. Go right around the point to cow pasture point at daylight and the whole top of the water would boil with fish. Zebco 202 in hand and wat ever kind of line they came with already spooled on it and a thread spool for a plunker and 3 lil skunks tied on. Throw that thing out there in that boil and 3 white bass on by the time I got it back to the boat. Man those were the days. I started bass fishin regular the year after that on the Ky River and then I was hooked. Love catchin those ole bucket mouths.
