No. We opened the gate on December 11, 2006 and closed it on February 9, 2007. At the time the gate was reclosed the water level was about 7.5 feet below normal pool, but heavy rain on frozen ground on February 12 AND 13 brought it up some from that low point.Originally Posted by kenny
Anyone considering ice fishing should probably go someplace else, the changing wate rlevels tends to make our ice unstable and unpredictable. On the other hand, I did see a few guys out here last weekend, and they made it out alive, so you'll have to be your own judge of the safety. Our official policy is that we wouldn't call the ice safe if it was frozen all the way to the bottom. Use some wisdom and be aware of subtle changes.
