Has anyone tried the new P-Line Evolution? I've seen it a few places, but never heard what anyone thought about it. I was mainly wondering how it compares with P-Line Floroclear.
remember this.. BASS PRO SHOPS EXCELL !!!!! the best line i have used for the money. i use 8lb 12lb and 17lb and i have had nothing but great things to say about this line. once you try it you will know.
I have always used Trilene XL and still do to this day but i tried Excel 2 years ago and caught a nice 6 pounder the first trip out[10lb test]and horsed it in with no problem.I use it on some of my reels now, maybe all of them soon.10 BUCKS FOR 1200 YARDS.Get er done.
braid for frogs
vanish transitions for my spinning gear and my flipping rod
trilene xt for everything else
Silver Thread AN 40 8# test for spinning. Little memory, lays on spool great small Diameter and can't hardly break it when you are hung down.
Hey ArtCarney why did they take Ironsilk off the shelf? I have used it in the past and like it.
I made the switch to stren and loved it but had a few problems with it this year and will switch to Ironsilk or P-line. I have also heard great stuff about tripplefish but have never used it.
I've been thinking about switching to Vanish Transitions on my light rigs, too, and I've been wondering, do you need to change it as often as you do mono?
BTW I've been getting Ironsilk at Fisherman's Factory Outlet http://www.ffo-tackle.com/
I love that site. Kinda like the Big Lots of online tackle shops; they don't have everything, but what they do have is real cheap!
Might as well throw in my 2 cents. I have to echo some of the other posts. I almost exclusively use Bass Pro's Excel---cheap,strong,low memory, but I change often. For Braid, I use Power Pro only!!!
I use the Berkley Vanish, this line is awesome. 14-20 I am a power fisherman and like to do alot of flippin into the thick nasty stuff. I very rarely break off and most of the time its my own fault for not re-tying after a few fish. The clear line is great for the clear lakes that I fish. I can use a heavier line and not worry if the fish can see it. Bonus is that the line sinks wich is great for flukes, it lets you get a little deeper without adding weight to the bait. Dont use this line in top water lures. The last 20 feet of your retreive will be under water. I even use Vanish in night fishing. I fish by feel and not watching the line. Come On Spring Time!!!!!
